Mary C. Lizzul
Mary C. Lizzul brings to her clients over twenty- five years of successful, hands-on fundraising, development management, and consulting experience with non-profit organizations of all sizes. Mary offers expertise in development assessments, major gifts and planned giving, uniquely structured campaign feasibility studies, campaign planning and implementation, annual giving, volunteer management, staff and Board training, and the planning, management and evaluation of overall development operations.
Before establishing MCL Consulting, Mary served as Vice President of the consulting firm Schultz & Williams, Inc., providing fundraising counsel to small and large non-profit organizations in the areas of healthcare, education, human services, and the arts. Prior to consulting, Mary built a successful career in hands-on fundraising and development management at educational and health systems organizations. Mary’s experience ranges from managing a $3.5M annual fund, to cultivating and soliciting major gifts, to managing development operations, to training and managing volunteers during Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s $200M campaign, to conducting corporate and foundation fundraising, to assessing, reorganizing and/or building more robust development operations to maximize fundraising. Mary has a bachelor's degree from Douglass College of Rutgers-The State University of New Jersey and a master's degree in public administration from New York University. She has been a member of the Council for the Advancement & Support of Education and Partnership for Philanthropic Planning of Greater Philadelphia. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
Mary has also served on the planning committee of the AFP’s Franklin Forum and has been a guest lecturer at the Franklin Forum, the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute (NELI) of Bryn Mawr College, the Keystone Conference for Stewardship and Donor Relations, and the Alliance for Nonprofit Management.
